NCAA Policy for Families of Athletes
Starting this school year the Newark Catholic Athletic Department will institute a policy, recommended by your Newark Catholic Athletic Association (NCAA), which requires the family of every athlete participating in a sport to purchase 2 tickets for the NCAA sponsored event at the end of that season or the Green & White Dinner next June. For families with a student or students in a sport each season, that equals 6 tickets.
Fall Mens Stag or Green & White ticket money for fall sports athletes will be due by September 8, 2010. Ladies Stag, Spring Men's Stag or Green & White ticket money for winter sports athletes will be due by December 8, 2010. Green & White ticket money for spring sports athletes will be due by April 8, 2011.
This was not a policy that was entered into without a lot of discussion among your NCAA members, the Athletic Department, Administration and other interested parties. For those who attend NCAA events, this will not be an extra expense. Parents can also sell their tickets to others to reduce their out of pocket expense, but we hope you will be able to attend and even win a cash prize at the event(s). Your NCAA can also help parents sell their tickets. You will not only be supporting your athlete(s), but also future Newark Catholic athletes. A large part of what makes Newark Catholic such a special place is our sense of “family”. NCAA events are a great way to socialize and get to know other parents, coaches, alumni and community leaders.
