Newark Catholic Lenten Mission Week ~ Being Smart with your Smartphone

Dear Parents ~

 

We are happy to announce Newark Catholic’s annual Lenten Mission. We are offering a dynamic presentation next week,  March 7th, 8th and 9th to our students. The theme is about educating our students of the power and dangers of using their smartphones.  We have titled it Being Smart with Your Smartphone.

 

Below is a list of the speakers and links to their biographies:

We are also offering  two meetings for parents. We would love to see you at one or both!

 

  • Tuesday Morning at 7:00 a.m., Officer Stanko will present and meet with parents to discuss  his presentation to the students. Coffee and Donuts will be providedat 6:45 a.m.
  • Thursday Evening at 6:30 p.m. Campus ministers, Chris Grieb and Andrew Maynard will offer a wrap-up discussion for parents providing them with an overviews of the mission as well as tools for continual conversation with the children.

 

Emails will be sent out after each day of the mission to inform you what was discussed and encourage you to talk about these with your children over dinner or any discussion.

2016-2017 Tuition Assistance – Reminder ~ due by March 15

FACTSFamilies registered in Catholic parishes are eligible for tuition assistance from our diocese. Local tuition assistance for participating Catholics and non-participating Catholics is also available at Newark Catholic High School.

 

Financial assistance will only be given to those who qualify through the FACTS application. The FACTS form is used for both Diocesan and Newark Catholic grants. To be eligible for a Newark Catholic grant service hours and finances must be in order. This aid is based on financial need and not all who apply are given the grants. To apply you must complete a FACTS Student Aid Form only available online at www.factstutionaid.com Forms must be completed and submitted online by March 15, 2016. Applicants can pay using a Credit Card, Debit Card, Electronic transfer from checking account, or Electronic transfer from savings account.


College Credit Plus Information 2016-2017

If you are participating in CCP for the 2016-2017 school year, please begin working on the steps below.

  1. SUBMIT YOUR LETTER OF INTENT

Print and fill out the Intent to Participate form for Nonpublic Schools (Intent Form).
Turn in your letter of intent to the guidance office, we will copy and return it to you.
Email (CCPIntentLetter@nulleducation.ohio.gov)or mail to the address at the bottom of the Intent Form by April 1.

  1. APPLY TO COLLEGES

Go to the college(s) website and apply.  Be sure to apply for their CCP application.

  1. RECEIVE ACCEPTANCES

Acceptance letters from the colleges will be emailed or mailed.  You will need to upload a copy of this to your computer, so it will need to be scanned and saved.   

  1. APPLY FOR FUNDING

Parents need to create a SAFE ACCOUNT (Safe Account Portal) and upload a copy of the acceptances and apply for funding.  The window to create the account is open now, the window to apply for funding opens February 25 and closes April 8.


NC Foundation ~ Estate Planning Seminar, February 11
