Cheerleading Tryouts ~ Meeting

March 20, 2017

Any girl in Grades 8-11 interested in trying out for Newark Catholic Cheerleading for 2017-2018 should attend a meeting on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 6:00pm.  At least one parent should attend.  The meeting will be held in the Newark Catholic Cafeteria.  E-mail Coach Crystal Fulk with questions, crystalfulk@nullyahoo.com.

Parent volunteers needed for St. Joseph the Worker Day

St. Joseph the Worker Day and May Crowning:  We are in need of parents to help with our May 5th Community Service Day at Newark Catholic. If you are available, please call the office or send a note to Mrs. Julie Waggoner. Your help is needed to assist in transporting and chaperoning our students. This is a day all of us can give back to our community by helping with various jobs around the homes of those in need or a community area.  Thank your for your assistance. Students will be given a free lunch that day and then dismissed at 1:15 pm.  Please join us for our May crowning at 12:30 pm on that day too.

Fr. Dave Pivonka Assembly: Living a life in the Holy Spirit

NC students enjoyed an assembly today with Fr. Dave Pivonka, a nationally known author and speaker. For twenty years Fr. Dave has been leading pilgrimages to some of the holiest and most important sites in our Christian faith. He spends much of his time helping others come to know God’s love for them through his preaching and other spiritual outreaches.


Cora Mihalick moving on to State Judging ~ Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition

Newark Catholic student, Cora Mihalick entered five pieces of artwork into the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition today and four of the pieces made it through regional judging to state judging! Mr. Nelson ~ Coughlin Automotive “You Made A Difference” Award

Mr. Russ Nelson has been selected as Coughlin Automotive You Made A Difference Teacher Award for 2017. Mr. Nelson was nominated by senior, Charlie Wade. Mr. Nelson teaches Physics, Math Modeling, AP Calculus, Physics for Robotics Engineering and also serves as the Technology Coordinator and Games Club Advisor at Newark Catholic. Coughlin Automotive Group created this awards program to honor 13 selected educational staff members from the Licking County School Districts. There is one award recipient from each of the 10 districts plus- C-TEC, LCESC, and Newark Catholic. The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor each recipient for his/her outstanding effort to “Make-A-Difference” in the lives of students.
