The NC Drama & Music Department will be performing “Fiddler on the Roof” Jan. 30, 31 at the Midland. Pre-Sale tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the NC office or through a student at the high school and will be available the week of January 20. The shows start at 7:00 p.m. and all tickets at the door will be $15.00.

35 seniors attended a presentation on Wednesday, December 18, by Karen Jones from the Licking County Foundation. She presented the 2015 application process and the requirements needed to earn money through the foundation. The due date for the application process is Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 5:00 pm.

A representative from the Licking County Foundation will be coming to NC during the senior lunch period on Wednesday, December 17 to give a presentation about applying for scholarships through the LCF. The guidance office recommends ALL seniors apply for Licking County Foundation Scholarships. This is an organization that oversees the distribution of millions of dollars of scholarship money for high school seniors as well as current college students. Scholarships are passed out based on traditional criteria, such as GPA and test scores, as well as intended major of study, and talents and interests, with some awards only requiring a minimum GPA of 2.0. On Tuesday, December 9, Dom Tiberi shared Maria’s Message with the students at NCHS. It is an important message for all your adults to hear. The Foundation for Maria’s Message has launched a campaign to bring Defensive Driving to the forefront. Maria had only three short years of driving experience and the Foundation would like to encourage better defensive driver training.

Mass was held today, December 8 to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception centers on the belief that Jesus’ mother, the Virgin Mary, was conceived without sin. Pope Pius IX issued an apostolic constitution, known as the Ineffabilis Deus, on December 8, 1854. This document clarified the importance of the Immaculate Conception in the Catholic Church.
