Former "Phantom" Comes to NC
Franc D’Ambrosio, who played “The Phantom” in Phantom of the Opera longer than anyone on Broadway, held a master class at NC for performing arts students. The class was made possible by Nancy Evans Anderson (NC’79), Director of The Midland Theater.
Over fifty NC performing arts students as well as a few students from Newark and Johnstown attended this special master class. Junior Elizabeth Joyce sang “Reflection” from “Mulan” for D’Ambrosio. He helped her with “communicating” the emotion of the song. NC ’10 alum, Blake Talbott, who is a junior at Otterbein studying vocal performance, also sang.
When asked why he did this class, D’Ambrosio said, “It’s a passion. When I’m not performing, I’m teaching. I had a mentor when I was in school and I always thought it was a good idea to give back”.
We’re glad he did!
