NCHS Athletic Updates:

Wednesday, April 8

Per Nationwide Children’s Hospital — Governor DeWine’s most recent STAY AT HOME order that extends to May 1st along with Dr. Acton’s indications that Coronavirus peak is likely to hit in early-mid May make it appropriate for the safety of our athletes and our community to cancel all Sports Physicals currently scheduled in May and early June. Although we are hopeful we will be able to reschedule the Physicals sometime in late summer, the course of the virus is unknown. The directives of the Governor, Dr. Acton, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be our guiding influence. We would like to stay in open discussions with you, and review in mid- May the best plan moving forward for this year’s Physicals. Thank you for your understanding of the need to cancel them at this time. ~Meredith Koehler, MS, ATC, AT, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine

Spring sports at Newark Catholic High School have been suspended indefinitely. No games or practices are allowed. The affected programs are baseball, softball, and track & field. When further athletic updates are available, they will be posted here.
