Long-Time NC Guidance Counselor Tom Lusk Passes Away

Long time guidance counselor Tom Lusk passed away July 5th.

 

Tom graduated from Newark Catholic in 1961. He received his B.A. degree from the College of St. Charles Borromeo in 1966. He then went on to receive his Masters from Xavier University in 1970.

 

Tom started his long career at Newark Catholic in January of 1967. During his forty-five years at NC, Mr. Lusk taught English, Latin, speech and psychology. He was a guidance counselor for juniors and seniors and ran guidance seminars for grades 9-12. During his years as guidance counselor, he helped thousands of students receive millions of dollars in financial aid and academic scholarships. Tom served as Advisor to the student council for over 25 years. Mr. Lusk was principal at Newark Catholic during the 1996-97 school year.

 

Tom’s forty-five years of service to Newark Catholic, its students and families is unmatched. We thank Tom for his love and passion for Newark Catholic High School. He will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him.
