NC Music & Drama Dept Wins $10,000
The Newark Catholic Drama & Music Department, led by Mr. Moore was awarded a $10,000 check today through the NBC4 Make A Difference Grant. Newark Catholic was one of the 3 remaining finalist in the Small School Division. Hundreds of schools in the central Ohio area submitted nominations for the grant.The money will enable Newark Catholic to further enhance the music and drama program. The grant will have a substantial impact on our ability to continue producing our two major productions each year as well as enable us to purchase royalties to recently released shows that students have great interest in performing in. We will also be purchasing wireless headsets. As educators at Newark Catholic we believe the arts play a major role in the future success of the education system; helping young adults to learn important lessons in teamwork and develop the freedom to be their selves.
