High school:  Newark Catholic

College:  Ohio University/Temple University

Mary played four years of volleyball at Newark Catholic, including being a part of the 1979 and 1980 state championship and the 1981 state final four teams. Mary attended college at Ohio University, playing volleyball as a setter from 1982-1985. She was the team captain in her senior season. Mary remains ranked 9th in Overall Career Records for Assists at OU with 1,889. In 1986, Mary was hired as the head volleyball coach and assistant basketball coach at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ where she coached from 1987-1990. Mary was then hired by James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA to become their head volleyball coach. Mary coached at JMU through the 1995 season when she left coaching to focus on her family. From 2003-2005, Mary was the Athletic Director for the Newark Catholic Junior High teams associated with St. Francis de Sales School and Blessed Sacrament School. She got back into coaching volleyball for the NCJH from 2005-2010. Mary was elected to the Newark Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
