Sacred Heart Enthronement

In 2024, Newark Catholic High School engaged in a year-long preparation for the Enthronement of the school to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The purpose of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is to focus our school community on receiving the love of Christ and returning His love with gratitude. The Sacred Heart pictures, images, and statues throughout our building remind all who enter that we have chosen to make Jesus the King of our hearts and school.

St. Catherine Of Siena Chapel

Our St. Catherine of Siena chapel is an integral part of Newark Catholic’s campus ministry program. It is a beautiful space for prayer and reflection. The chapel features several stained glass windows created by artist Charles Madden in partnership with Columbus Franklin Glass. Madden spent days deciding on how the chapel should face to get the most light through the stained glass windows.

He placed two windows on either side of the chancel. One is called “The Tree of Life,” which features an image of Jesus nailed to a tree. On the other side there is “The Lamb of God,” which shows a lamb with a flag that signifies victory over sin and death. There is also a series of small windows on the north wall of the chapel, which tell the story of God's creation.

Patron Saint, John Bosco

John Bosco is Newark Catholic High School's patron saint. He embodies what we strive to instill in young people at NCHS--he made it his life's mission to form youth into faithful men and women who actively and positively contribute to the world around them.

May Crowning

May is the month dedicated to the Blessed Mother, and we commemorate that with the traditional crowning of our Mary statues around campus. Led by the students, May crowning is an amazing way to dedicate or re-dedicate oneself to devotions to the Mother of God.

Catholic Schools Week

National Catholic Schools Week is traditionally in late January into early February. It is a celebration of our faith, and in union with Catholic schools all over the country, a testament to the blessing and joy that is Catholic education. Students can participate in themed jeans days as well as our annual student-teacher volleyball game.
