Welcome to the Newark Catholic High School website. We are pleased you are interested in learning about our school and our proud tradition. This website will allow you to explore what we are about and what we can offer you.
At Newark Catholic, we believe in teaching each student how to think independently, make excellent decisions based on knowledge and experience, and apply what they know with self-confidence. Equally important is to teach them to respect and appreciate the unique talents of others and work together collaboratively for the greater good. As parents and educators, this is our common goal. This preparation is the real-life advantage of a Newark Catholic education. Each student is a valued member of the school community. Above all else, respect for one another is the guiding principle for our interactions. Newark Catholic provides a positive school culture where all students feel safe and welcomed.
Newark Catholic High School is called to a mission that is grounded in the love of Christ and the faith of the Catholic Church. Our students are given not just the knowledge and skills they will need to prosper in tomorrow’s world but also the faith and virtues that can make them women and men of outstanding character.
Come visit us to see for yourself all we have to offer. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for your time and interest in Newark Catholic High School.
Mission Statement
Newark Catholic High School is committed to creating an environment for students to grow in their Catholic Faith, expand their knowledge, and extend their talents in service to others.
Our Catholic School: The Diocese of Columbus
With strong academics, service, and care, our students grow as children of God.
Our Catholic Schools are called to serve the Catholic community through the shared ministry of education—embracing mission, academic excellence, leadership, governance, financial stewardship, and advocacy—so that we may form disciples who fully live the message of Jesus Christ.
Ohio Catholic Schools are faith-centered learning communities across the state of Ohio, dedicated to nurturing the whole child—spiritually, academically, and socially. Rooted in the Catholic tradition, these schools emphasize strong academics, moral development, and service to others. They are accredited through the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA), whose standards are recognized as comparable to the Ohio Department of Education’s Operating Standards, ensuring both faith formation and academic excellence. Together, Ohio Catholic Schools prepare students to live out their faith, achieve at high levels, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association
Setting the Standards for Catholic Education in Ohio.
In 1994, the Bishops of Ohio formed the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA). The OCSAA is a collaborative undertaking of the Catholic dioceses in Ohio and is governed by the Superintendents of Schools who serve as the OCSAA Commission. The purpose of the OCSAA is to strengthen Catholic school identity and mission and engage Catholic schools in the ongoing improvement of student learning.
The Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA) exists to strengthen the Catholic identity and mission of schools while ensuring the ongoing improvement of student performance. Accreditation requires schools to demonstrate evidence of meeting OCSAA Standards, which the State Board of Education recognizes as comparable to the Ohio Department of Education’s Operating Standards for Ohio’s Schools. Through this process, new Catholic schools may apply for a state charter, and existing schools can maintain theirs.
At the heart of the OCSAA process is a commitment to continuous improvement. As an OCSAA member, Newark Catholic High School engages in ongoing strategic planning to provide a high-performing learning environment where students are firmly rooted in their faith and excel academically.
Newark Catholic High School is fully accredited by the OCSAA and holds a charter from the State of Ohio to operate.
