Key Club

As the secondary school organization of Kiwanis, our Key Club is a dynamic and active chapter. Since its beginning nationally back in 1925, Key Club International has supported the transformation of high school students as they graduate and become the next generation of leaders. Members of the NC Key Club, learn how to lead and stand up for what's right through volunteerism making valuable contributions and raising awareness on our campus and in our community.

Our Key Club is a student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership. Newark Catholic's chapter is active in their community service work, by caring for the needs of their school, local, and global communities. Key Club is a part of the Kiwanis International family, and is the oldest and largest community service program for high school students.

Student Council

At Newark Catholic, our Student Council plays a vital role in fostering a sense of community, leadership, and service among students. Members of the council are elected by their peers and serve as representatives for their classmates, helping to organize events, activities, and fundraisers that promote school spirit and unity. They also collaborate with faculty and administration to promote positive behavior, and encourage faith-based initiatives, such as service projects or prayer groups. By embodying Catholic values, Newark Catholic Student Council helps create an environment where students not only excel academically but also grow in their spiritual and personal development.

House Council for Student-Life

This group of student leaders is composed of student Captains representing each NC House of Service: Red, Mediterranean, Galilee, and Jordan. House Captains collaborate with Campus Ministry and school Administration, meeting frequently throughout the year to provide insight and lend a faith-filled, student-voice in discussion and implementation of programming, initiatives, and policies impacting student-life at NC. In addition to representing one's house on this student-life council, House Captains spearhead initiatives in their Houses of Services leading the student body in addressing needs within the community as called by God and outlined in Catholic Social Teaching.

Battle of the Books

Competing at the diocesan level, Battle of the Books club meets throughout the year to prepare for quiz-bowl style events. As a group of avid readers, they read many titles including those on a set list for competition then engage other diocesan schools to see who takes the book-trivia title--after the teams exchange gifts and dine together, of course. Teams and students that perform well will may earn awards that can go on resumes and college applications

National Honor Society

With an application process extended to students as they prepare to become upperclassmen, NHS's purpose is to form students in its four pillars so that in their time in the society, they are transformed, their potential is met, and their educational journeys are enhanced; across the US, the National Honor Society (NHS) stands as a beacon of intellectual rigor, a celebration of service, a paragon of leadership, and a champion of character. Locally our chapter engages in thousands of service hours annually and works as a group to extend its talents to area Catholic feeder schools, parishes, and community organizations, answering the call from God to serve.
