Aaron Links - Class of 1995

Engineering came naturally to Aaron Link, 1995 NC graduate. A gearhead with his father in their garage growing up, as well as racing at Mid-Ohio was just part of life in the household, specifically working on the bright orange 1973 Porsche 914. During his time at Newark Catholic, he participated in cross country, basketball, track and was a member of National Honor Society and French Club. He was proud to attend NC where he held high regard for legacy and upholding the family name. Aaron remembers a tradition of winning, where as a freshman nothing could beat the excitement in the stands during the state championship football game of 1991 or being part of the cross country team that went to state his senior year. He also remembers enjoying Physics class with Ann xx, who helped pave the way for what was to come.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Aaron became an Industrial Engineer at Virginia Tech. He earned a position in the leadership program at GM upon earning his degree. Since 2001, he has been part of the Global Vehicle Department for Corvette, where he holds the title of Performance Manager, made up of an elite team of six. In his own words, it is a “4,000 acre playground” focused on vehicle dynamics at the Milford Proving Ground in Michigan. His main focus revolves around what customers want: appeal, sound, reaction time, experience, look and feel to deliver the right experience. His most recent notables include setting record lap times for the Corvette Z06, ZR1, and ZR1X at the Nurburgring race track in Germany.

Aaron self-professed his true faith following did not happen until his late twenties, but it was the guiding principles he learned at NC that laid the foundation for a path to open, along with divine intervention that brought him back. A full circle moment for him was attending his 30th class reunion this past summer where he was so happy to see faces of those he had missed for years. His advice to students would be “to not sell yourself short; believe in yourself and what NC can do for you. Value the caring, supportive community, be resilient, hold yourself accountable, and know your worth.” He and his fiancée, Ashley reside in Novi, Mi. with his two daughters and her two sons.
